The Kirkland Guacamole Cups at Costco Are a Hit!

The Kirkland Signature Organic Chunky Guacamole Cups at Costco comes with 16 individual servings that makes them prefect for sticking in lunches or simply controlling portion size for evening snacking.

Boxes of Kirkland Guacamole

This is the same guacamole Costco includes with their Chicken Quesadillas and it would also be excellent with the Costco Street Taco Kit.

The guac appears to be in the same packaging they use for their hummus cups.

Costco Has Great Guacamole

I think Costco has great guacamole.

That being said, have found that guacamole is one of those foods that people are so passionate about that there is no singular consensus about what makes for a truly great guacamole.

I really like the Costco guacamole cups because of the:

  • Portion Size
  • Flavor
  • Texture

Great Portion Size

You get 16 single serve cups of guacamole per box with each serving having 2.5 ounces of product.

The single serve cups makes it easy to do portion controls and not completely binge eat more than you intended.  The single serve cups also makes the guac great for sticking in lunches for school or work.

Equally important, you can open two or three containers and eat as much as you want without exposing the rest of the guacamole to air and starting the oxidation process.  That is, you get more usable guacamole compared to if you bought the same amount in a large tub where you know the bottom of the product is going to turn bad before you get around to eating it.

Nice Flavor

The Costco guacamole has all of the flavors you expect with none of them being overwhelming.  Like most of the Kirkland brand products, the guacamole tastes like it was designed to be “neutral” to appeal to as many people as possible.

You get the standard flavors of avocado, lime, onion, cilantro, etc.  and can doctor it up with extra lime juice, hot sauce or whatever else you feel would make it the perfect guacamole.

Smooth Texture

I am high maintenance when it comes to food textures with one of my absolute biggest concerns being the presence of raw onions.

I love the flavor of onions but absolutely HATE the texture of raw onions.  I hate raw onions so much that I rarely eat other brands of guacamole since they are often loaded with crunchy onions.

The Costco product has onion flavors but I have never found a chunk of raw onion in one of the cups which makes this a winner in my book.

The guacamole must be refrigerated.

Costco Value

The 16 pack of Organic Guacamole costs $15.99 which works out to a cost of $1 per serving or $0.40 per ounce.

I wouldn’t call $1 per serving cheap but it also is not unreasonably priced.
