Calories and Nutrition

Each quiche weighs 23 ounces and a single serving is 1/5 of a quiche.  The information below is for the Spinach and Artichoke Quiche but the nutritional content is similar for the Cheddar and Broccoli.

The nutritional facts for a single serving are:

  • Calories: 280
  • Fat: 17g (22% DV)
  • Cholesterol: 20mg (7% DV)
  • Sodium: 540mg (23% DV)
  • Carbohydrates: 22g (8% DV)
  • Protein: 11g

These nutritional values are not practical because the idea of 1/5 of a quiche is absurd.  You are first going to slice the quiche into four pieces and most people will then slice those in half to make 8 pieces. So, whether you want a huge 1/4 slice or a smaller 1/8 slice the relevant calorie counts are:

  •  1/4 of the quiche: 350
  • 1/8 of the quiche: 175

The calories for the Broccoli and Cheddar Quiche are:

  •  1/4 of the quiche: 375
  • 1/8 of the quiche: 188

Ingredient List

The Spinach and Artichoke Quiche has the following ingredients:

  • Egg whites
  • Whole milk
  • Enriched wheat flour
  • Spinach
  • Swiss Cheese
  • Artichokes
  • Palm oil
  • Water
  • Monterey Jack cheese
  • Onions
  • Canola oil
  • Cornstarch
  • Salt
  • Sugar
  • Butter
  • Oat fiber
  • Black pepper
  • Nutmeg

The ingredients for the Broccoli and Cheddar quiche are similar except the spinach, artichokes and Swiss cheese are replaced with cheddar cheese and broccoli.

Cooking Instructions

These quiche are NOT ready to eat and must be cooked to an internal temperature of 165F before consumption.  Two sets of cooking instructions are provided.

Microwave Heating (for an individual slice)

  • Remove the quiche from the plastic wrapper.
  • Cut out the desired slice and place on a microwave safe plate.
  • Microwave on High for two minutes.

This method is fast and produces an absolutely horrible crust.  The crust gets soggy, limp and just about inedible.

Oven Heating

  • Remove the quiche from its plastic wrapper
  • Preheat your oven to 375F
  • Bake the quiche at 375F for 20-25 minutes until an internal temperature of 165F is reached.
  • Add approximately 10 more minutes of cook time if the quiche is frozen.

This is the better cooking option and results in a beautifully browned, slightly crunchy crust.

Taste Test

Here is where things come down to personal opinions and what you think a quiche ought to look and taste like.  The summary below is the same for both varieties of the quiche.

The quiche is a bounty of Spinach and Artichoke with a delightful crust.  The quiche is well seasoned and the crust is flaky, buttery and delicious.

What you don’t particularly notice is the eggs and that really bothers some people.

Quiche with Lots of Filling

These quiche use egg whites as a binding agent and delivery device for the filling flavors.  This product is all about the filling and the crust and that is just fine with me!

Many people want a quiche to highlight the eggs as that is sort of the point of a quiche.  They want a thick layer of fluffy eggs that have the full flavor from using the whole egg. That is NOT what you get with this product.  These quiche are a thin layer of egg whites used to showcase other flavors.

If what you want is a really “eggy” quiche then move on because this is not the product for you.

What to Serve with the Quiche

You can certainly eat the quiche all by itself but why not add some more flavors and colors to the plate? Here are some suggestions on items to serve with the quiche:

Green salad – A simple green salad with mixed greens, cucumber, and tomato is a classic accompaniment.

Fruit salad – A fruit salad with a mix of fresh fruits like berries, melon, and pineapple can add a refreshing and sweet contrast to the savory quiche.

Roasted vegetables – Roasted vegetables like asparagus, cherry tomatoes, and zucchini can be a great side dish for quiche. You can also add some garlic and herbs for extra flavor.

Soup – A bowl of soup, such as tomato soup or French onion soup, can make a warm and comforting pairing.

Cheese plate – A selection of cheeses like brie, cheddar, and goat cheese can complement the flavors of the quiche.

Quiche’s also goes well with crispy bacon and breakfast potatoes!

Storage and Leftovers

The quiche needs to be refrigerated and has a “Best By” date that is usually about 30 days from your date of purchase.  If you do not cook the quiche by the “Best By” date then you can put it in the freezer where it will last for one year.

If you do freeze the quiche then it can be cooked directly from frozen by adding an extra 10-15 minutes to the cooking time.

Leftovers

Leftovers must be stored in the refrigerator where they will keep for four days.  The packaging indicates that any leftovers must be served cold and NOT reheated.

Price

The quiche, Item Number 380991, can be found in he refrigerated coolers near the deli.

I bought the two pack of quiche at Costco for $12.79.

You can buy the same sized Broccoli and Cheddar quiche for $7.97 at Walmart so buying two would cost you $15.94.

This means that you will save $3.15 (20%) when you purchase the two pack at Costco.

  1. We made the cheddar broccoli quiche tonight and even though I cooked it at the 375 temp and added time to it, I couldn’t get the bottom to cook. It was white and doughy. Very disappointed. Tossed it.

  2. Horrible and no taste

  4. I just looked up this quiche to get a calorie count and found these reviews. My wife and I just had the spinach & artichoke for lunch. Our conversation was exactly as these other reviews say! The number one ingredient is egg WHITES. Why would anyone do that. Quiche is easy to make and hard to mess up. This stuff has very little flavor

  5. I absolutely love these quiches !! They are filling, satisfying and delicious ! I appreciate the egg whites for a lower cholesterol option. No they are not eggs but they are excellent!

  6. The filling was good especially the spinach one but the bottom crust was raw. How do you cook it to get the crust cooked?
