The Costco Ham and Cheese Pastry is delicious and it is going to add many inches to my waistline. The pastry is croissant like and filled with diced ham and provolone cheese in a béchamel cheese sauce.
The pastry is sold refrigerated and must be stored in your refrigerator when you get home.
Heating Instructions
According to the package label, to heat the pastry you need to:
- Preheat your oven to 350F
- Remove the pastries from the plastic container
- Place the pastries on a baking sheet
- Bake the pastries for 8-10 minutes
- Let cool for 5 minutes and serve.
I found that 8 minutes was a touch too long in my oven (over browned) and suggest you start checking after 7 minutes.
Taste Test!
The pastries are freaking delicious.
The pastry has buttery, flaky layers just like the Costco Croissants that are perfectly crisp after heating in the oven.
The filling is EXTREMELY rich and filling. The ham, cheese and sauce combination is savory, salty and creamy. There is absolutely nothing sweet about the pastry, it is simply a savory flavor bomb.
If this sounds too rich for you then you should check out the Costco Cherry and Cheese Pastry which has enough sweetness to balance out the richness of the cheese.
I suspect that many people will be overwhelmed by the pastry as it is a massive meal and hard to finish in one sitting.
To make things lighter you could cut it in half and save the rest for later. Serve with a side of mixed berries, citrus segments, or sliced apples for a refreshing contrast to the deep savory flavors of the pastry. The natural sweetness and acidity of fresh fruit will balance out the richness of the pastry.

We all knew that this was going to be loaded with fat and calories before we ate them and we just didn’t care.
Price
The Ham and Cheese Pastry is Item Number 1530560 and is found in the bakery in the refrigerated coolers.
The four pack of pastries costs $8.99 which comes out to a cost of $2.25 per pastry.
If you were to buy something of this quality at a bakery it would cost at least $5 so I will call these a deal. These pastries are so incredibly filling that I am happy to eat one for a late breakfast and it holds me over until dinner. So, if you figure that you can get two meals per pastry then they are an even better bargain!
