Cooking the Kirkland Italian Sausage and Beef frozen lasagna from Costco is a fast and easy way to get a delicious dinner on the table in a hurry. The cooking instructions for the lasagna include directions for heating in either the oven or microwave with the microwave being the fastest option.
I always have at least one of these frozen lasagnas sitting in my freezer for those nights when I need a quick dinner!
Cooking Instructions
You can cook the lasagna in either the oven or microwave. Regardless of which method you choose the two things you need to do are:
- Cook the meal from frozen, do NOT thaw first.
- Heat the meal to an internal temperature of 165F.
Microwave Instructions
- Take off the outer wrapper and separate the twin pack.
- Remove the lasagna from the cardboard sleeve
- Cut a two inch slit in the plastic film to vent
- Cook on High for 10 minutes
- Remove the plastic film
- Lower the power level of the microwave to 50%.
- Heat for 14 minutes
- Let the lasagna stand in the microwave for 5 minutes
- Slice and serve.
When I cook the lasagna I have found that my microwave needs 17 minutes at 50% power instead of the 14 minutes given in the instructions.

Slicing and Serving
I cut the lasagna into six servings by slicing it once lengthwise down the middle and then making two equally spaced horizontal cuts. You can use a sharp kitchen knife or a pair of scissors to make the cuts.
I like to serve the lasagna with a simple Caesar salad and sometimes with some veggies and garlic bread.
The lasagna tastes great and is extremely filling.
The combination of Italian sausage and beef gives you plenty of meat. The marinara sauce is rich, slightly sweet and pairs wonderfully with the ricotta, Romano and mozzarella cheeses. There are three layers of pasta noodles that are perfectly tender and a delight to eat.
The lasagna is not perfect but it is good enough that I don’t bother making my own from scratch anymore!

Price
The Kirkland Italian Sausage and Beef Lasagna comes in a twin pack with each container holding three pounds of food. The lasagna is Item Number 1321637 and is found in the frozen food section of the warehouse.
The twin pack of frozen lasagna cost me $16.79 at Costco which works out to a price of $8.40 per lasagna or $2.798 per pound.
I think that $8.40 for a delicious lasagna that you can cook in the microwave in under 30 minutes is one heck of a deal and that is yet another reason that I always keep at least one of these in my freezer!
I defrosted my 6 lb lasagna before reading instructions! How long should I cook this. Help!
Probably about an hour at 385F.
