Costco is selling a four pound bad of frozen Foster Farms Take Out Crispy Wings that are fully cooked and come with Buffalo sauce. The wings are marketed as Take Out Crispy Wings and I figured they were worth a try.
It turns out that the Foster Farms frozen chicken wings were a bit of a disappointment and I will not be buying these again.
Keep reading and let’s see if these wings are right for you.
Calories and Nutrition
Let’s take a closer look at what you get with this bag of wings.
Nutrition Facts
You get 3.25 pounds of wings and 0.75 pounds of sauce per package. Three ounces of chicken meat is considered a single serving but there is no guidance on what that translates to in terms of how many wings.
The nutritional facts for a single serving are:
- Calories: 150
- Fat: 9g (12% DV)
- Cholesterol: 75mg (25% DV)
- Sodium: 630mg (27% DV)
- Carbohydrates: 4g (1% DV)
- Protein: 12g
A serving of the Buffalo sauce is 2 tablespoons and it has a whopping 1060 mg of sodium (48% DV).
Heating Instructions
The wings are already fully cooked and only need to be heated to warm them up and get the skin crispy.
The instructions for heating the wings in the oven are:
- Spray a baking sheet with non-stick oil.
- Preheat your oven to 425F
- Place 12 wings on the tray and bake for 2o minutes.
If you want to cook the whole bag of wings at once then preheat the oven to 475F and bake for 30 minutes.
Air Fryer Heating Instructions
The packaging was pretty useless and simply said to follow manufactures instructions. Yeah, thanks.
I cooked these wings in my Ninja Foodi air fryer . Here are my suggested cooking instructions.
- Load the tray with the wings and cook for 10 minutes at 425F.
- Flip the wings over and cook for another 10 minutes at 425F.
- Get frustrated that the wings aren’t getting crispy.
- Raise the temperature to 450F and cook another 10 minutes.
- Deal with the smoke
- Say to heck with it and get back to the party to watch the game.

Taste Test
I tossed the wings with the included Buffalo sauce and set the wings out along with the other snacks we were serving at our football party.
Several people commented on how large the wings were as some of the drumettes looked like undersized chicken legs.
The wings were not a hit. People were tearing into the six layer bean dip and crunchy mini tacos but barely touched the wings.
The texture of the skin was slightly rubbery and the meat was little dry. I am not going to say that the wings were awful but they certainly were not appealing.
I freaking love chicken wings and I only ate a couple of these. We had a lot of wings leftover and instead of saving them they got pitched in the trash.
Item Number and Location
The Foster Farms Crispy Wings are Item Number 1338984.
The wings are frozen and can be found with the other frozen chicken items like the Just Bare Chicken Nuggets.
This is not a seasonal product so it should be available at your warehouse year round.
Costco Value
The four pound bag of wings and sauce cost me $17.99 at Costco which works out to a cost of $4.50 per pound.
I looked at this another way. I already have plenty of hot sauce at home so all I wanted from the bag was the chicken. Since there are only 3.25 pounds of wings in the bag my per pound cost for the chicken was $5.53 per pound.
Considering that it took just as long (or longer) to heat these frozen wings as it does to cook raw wings (that actually get crispy) I really don’t see a value add for the product.
These are the best frozen wings you can buy…just like restaurant style…you either over cooked them or had a bad bag
I know that I overcooked the heck out of them….and I still couldn’t get the wings crispy.
We have had them several times and have never had any complaints from anyone and we have never had any left over. Maybe we aren’t Chicken Wing Experts although we have eaten Chicken Wings often over the years and we find these to be as enjoyable as most all the rest. I always say everyone has a opinion and a right to their own opinion but not everyone has to agree…! So from this non expert of Chicken Wings in this case I say give them a try because your tastes and experience could possibly be satisfied with this product.
We love the wings. Best we’ve bought that didn’t need cooked from raw. We buy them by the bags for us and friends!!
Well, “bad of frozen chicken wings” says a lot.
The instructions are literally on the bag, not bad. Too bad you couldn’t follow them. You would of had some really good wings 😉
In spite of their price, they used to be delicious BUT they were recently purchased by another company and made with older more inferior wings now. The meat is tough and a lot less tasty. We purchased a second bag a month later to make sure it wasn’t a fluke, but no…they are simply inferior to the earlier product.
We have these wings several times and we think they are better tasting than any other frozen wing that We have tried.
Hello, I like the wings but the source I don’t need. Otherwise a good product.the only decent price is at Costco. The other stores sell them at 13.99 for 16oz.
