When my ravioli were finished I drizzled them with olive oil and topped with freshly grated Parmigiano Reggiano and marjoram.
Taste Test!
The three main ingredients in the filling are mozzarella and ricotta cheese with white meat chicken and none of those ingredients bring much flavor to the party.
These raviolis are pretty bland but are an excellent canvas for showcasing a delicious sauce.
The ravioli were acceptable but “just okay” when presented as above with olive oil, Parmesan and herbs. However, they were exceptional when used to highlight a delicious sauce like Kirkland’s Basil Pesto!
While Costco’s Lobster Ravioli are so rich that they can stand on their own, these chicken raviolis should be considered as a “pasta sauce delivery system”.
These ravioli would be great with a marina sauce or a lemon butter caper sauce tossed with some artichoke hearts.
Costco Value
I bought the 32 ounces of chicken ravioli at Costco on sale for $13.69 which works out to a price of $0.427 per ounce.
You can buy a 14 ounce tray of these ravioli for $5.99 at Ralphs which works out to a cost of $0.427 per ounce.
This means that the price of these ravioli at Costco is same as what you can find in a local grocery store.
I found these to be super salty and very filling. The sodium content is out of control on the label. My children did not like them at all. Compared to a 3 cheese ravioli, they are flavorful.
We had these ravioli with Alfredo sauce and red chili sauce drizzle they were so delicious
Im so disappointed. They are inedible. The filling taste like eating dry rosemary straight from the spice jar. I won’t be buying this again.
100% agree. We choked them down because I didn’t have the time or energy to make something else (which is why we cooked these up). But they were very unpleasant and way over seasoned.
