- Shrimp
- Pollock
- Sunflower oil
- Rice flour
- Salt
- Garlic powder
- Spices
Trader Joe’s website says that these burgers are 70% shrimp and 23% pollock with the balance being rice flour and other ingredients. The use of 23% pollock is what makes these be named ‘Shrimp Seafood Burgers” instead of just “Shrimp Burgers”.
These burgers are a product of Vietnam.
Cooking Instructions
You get four frozen burgers per box and each is vacuum sealed in its own plastic compartment making it easy to just cook one or two at a time if desired.
Trader Joe’s provides instructions for several ways of preparing these burgers (Grill, Oven Bake, Pan Fry) and I suspect you could also cook them in an air fryer if desired. Regardless of the cooking method employed, you want to cook these burgers to an internal temperature of 145F.
Grilling Instructions
- Set your grill to Medium heat.
- Lightly spray the shrimp burgers with olive oil.
- Grill the burgers for four minutes and flip.
- Grill the burgers for another four minutes and flip.
- Flip the burgers one more time and continue grilling until an internal temperature of 145F is reached.
- Serve.
Taste Test!
I was tempted to baste these burgers with some teriyaki sauce while they were grilling but decided that since I as doing a review on the burgers that I should not dress them up with any sauces or marinades.
I served the burgers up as simple lettuce wraps with this slices of fresh tomatoes and ciabatta toasts on the side. I thought the overall presentation was lovely and that it looked delightfully healthy.
I folded the lettuce over the tomato and shrimp burgers and dug in.
Wow!
These burgers, even without any condiments, were delicious! The seafood flavor was wonderful and, between the burgers and tomatoes, the wraps were incredibly juicy. The ciabatta toasts added just enough texture and crunch to make the meal incredibly satisfying without adding the bulk, calories and carbs from a full sized bun.
The biggest concern I had after reading he nutrition label was that, at only 90 calories per patty, these burgers would not be filling. It turns out that was not a valid concern.
I ended up splitting both burger in half to make forming the lettuce wraps easier. This left me with four lettuce wraps that contained about 200 calories combined.
By the time I got to the fourth wrap I was full! I didn’t want to waste the fourth wrap so I forced it down and ended up completely stuffed.
These shrimp burgers are delicious, filling and healthy as heck.
My singular complaint about the shrimp burgers is that the patty size is too small. For me, a single 3.2 ounce patty is not enough for a satisfying meal and two patties is a bit much. I would love to see these patties at 1/4 or 1/3 pound instead of the current 1/5 pound serving.

Notes
Price
The four pack of burgers cost $6.99 which works out to $1.75 per patty. I am going to look at this as spending $3.50 for a delicious and super healthy lunch which is on par with the cost of the amazing frozen Indian meals at Trader Joe’s.
These burgers are not as large as the ones that they serve at the restaurant down the street but they taste just as good, are more affordable and I don’t have to wait in line or deal with bad service to enjoy them.
I will absolutely be buying these again!
I had bought the mahi mahi burgers before reading your reviews. I immediately went and got these to try instead… so good! I toasted the TJ brioche buns, topped with Lettuce/Tomato/Onion and mixed TJ Green Dragon Hot Sauce (also your recommendation) with mayo as a condiment and they were delicious! Thanks!
