We recently got the Neakasa Pro S1 Pet Grooming Vacuum and have been having a great time putting it to use! Let me give you a quick overview of what you get with this unit and why I really like it.
Grooming Kit Contents
The grooming kit comes with a vacuum assembly, hose and an assortment of grooming attachments.
The vacuum assembly is light, easily maneuverable and comes with a HEPA filter. There are three different vacuum strength settings that vary in loudness, but even the highest setting is pretty quiet.
The power for the different attachments is supplied through the hose which features an easy “snap on” fit connection.
- The kit comes with eight different attachments which are easily stored and organized on the provided caddy. The attachements are:
- Slicker brush
- Undercoat rake
- Deshedding tool
- Nail grinder
- Fine trimmer
- Upholstery hair remover
- Crevice tool
- Full size trimmer with six guards
That is a LOT of functionality!
Using the Grooming Kit
The brushes and vacuum are absolutely wonderful for brushing my Golden Retriever. He is a non-stop fountain of hair and it is so nice to be able to brush him without his hair flying all over the room!
A nice feature on this unit is that when you are brushing the vacuum only activates when you press the button on the brush to remove the hair. Because the vacuum is not constantly running my dog doesn’t get nervous and the experience is fun for everyone!
I use a combination of the deshedding tool and slicker brush on him and they work well together.
Once the vacuum chamber is filled with dog hair it is easy to remove with a simple push of a button. The chamber is light and its contents can be easily discarded into the trash.
This really is so much nicer/cleaner/neater than our usual brushing routine.
Another attachment that I really appreciate is the nail grinder.
I have tried to trim my Goldendoodles nails in the past with a set of clippers and it turned into a disaster when I clipped too far up.
The nail grinder that comes with the grooming kit allows me to remove a little bit of nail at a time so I don’t have to worry about taking off too much and hurting my pup.
Again, this is another really nice feature!
Another delightful attachment is the upholstery hair remover.
Our three dogs take turns wallowing on our sofa and it is constantly covered in hair or fur of some type. We have tried using lint rollers to pick up the hair but they never do a decent job.
The upholstery attachment has a self cleaning roller brush that is great at picking up hair as well as dirt and dust. The experience of using the attachment is oddly satisfying. I really enjoy giving our sofa cushions a solid brushing while watching the hair and debris get sucked into the vacuum cannister!
One thing that both surprised and impressed me was that the design of the vacuum canister separates light and heavy materials. I discovered this while using the crevice tool on my sofa. I was vacuuming between the cushions and sucked up a couple pennies and a dime.
The coins impacted the white plastic deflector inside the vacuum chamber and fell onto the left side of the chamber, underneath the deflector. The dust, dirt and hair were fully transported to the right side of the chamber.
While I thought it was nice to find a few loose coins I bet this would be great for lost rings or earrings!
Overall Impressions
Everything about this grooming kit exceeded my expectations.
And by everything I mean even down to the packaging. The box the kit comes in is beautiful and the contents are superbly well organized and protected.
Neakasa even provides instructions for turning the packaging into a functional, and adorable, cat house!
I really enjoy the portability, functionality and overall design of the Neakasa Pro S1 vacuum pet grooming kit. My dogs appreciate the quietness of the unit as well as the safety provided by the nail grinding attachment.
