I think the Reser’s Scalloped Potatoes at Costco are okay but I don’t get too excited about them. My wife does not care for them so I no longer buy the product. Overall the potatoes are fine but not great.

If you want to kick the flavor up a little bit you can always add in a handful of Costco’s bacon bits!
Taste Test!
The cheese comes out browned and bubbly and, in my opinion, makes the dish look fantastic.
The sauce is rich, creamy and cheesy. You can tell that they did not hold back on the cheese.
The potatoes themselves are just okay. There are medium sized uniform slices of potatoes but, almost always, they feel like they have not been completely cooked. The potatoes are not quite as tender as I would prefer.
My wife, who is the authority on all things potatoes at our house, decided that she really wasn’t a fan of these and asked me not to buy them again. I should have seen that one coming as we always have a lot of potatoes leftover when we cook these and the leftovers last a LONG time in the refrigerator.
Item Number and Location
The scalloped potatoes are Item Number 577943.
The potatoes must be refrigerated and can be found in the refrigerated coolers near the deli section. Costco often has the potatoes strategically placed beside the Master Carve Half Ham as they make a wonderful easy dinner combination.
The scalloped potatoes are stacked all year long so if you can’t find them in your warehouse they are probably just sold out and will be restocked soon.
Costco Value
I bought the two and a half pound tray of scalloped potatoes at Costco for $6.99 which works out to a cost of $2.79 per pound.
You can buy a 20 ounce tray of these potatoes for $4.48 at Walmart which works out to a cost of $3.58 per pound.
This means that you can save $0.79 per pound (22%) when you buy the larger tray at Costco.
Update: The 2023 price for these has gone up to $7.39 at Costco but they are still a good deal.
I cook for the 25 minutes while Frozen took out it was still frozen in the middle slightly put it back in for another 15 minutes took it back out checked it and put it back in for 5 minutes product takes good no issues..
I had the same issue! Followed the oven instructions and they were still frozen. The manufacturer needs to update the instructions. Otherwise they taste good.
