Costco is selling boxes of Cluckin’ Tasty Spicy Chicken Sandwiches in the freezer section. After seeing these for a couple of months and wondering if they were any good I finally bought a box and brought them home.
So, what’s the verdict?
A Plain Sandwich With Lots of Potential
These fully cooked sandwiches simply need to be heated in the microwave or air fryer for a few minutes and they are ready to eat. I tried heating them a couple of different ways and settled on heating the chicken patty in the microwave for three minutes and warming the bun in the toaster.
The sandwich is pretty plain and consists of a breaded chicken breast and a sweet bun. Nothing worth writing home about. The chicken is a little spicy, salty and on the thin side.
However, you shouldn’t think of these as boring sandwiches. Rather, these are blank canvases waiting for you to unleash your creative sandwich dressing super powers!
I dressed mine with mayo, lettuce, pickles and tomatoes. This basic combination worked together to make a dang tasty sandwich that was perfect for a quick and filling lunch. This was not the best spicy chicken sandwich I have ever had but it was absolutely delightful and satisfying.
Overall this is a handy product to have on stock in my freezer. It is not world class cuisine by any measure but it is the perfect solution when lunch time rolls around, I’m hungry as a bear and do not have time to go pick up lunch.
