Are Costco’s Garlic Pepper Chicken Wings Worth Buying?

Costco has recently introduced a tray of fully cooked chicken wings, available in the deli section near the rotisserie chickens. Priced at about $6.50 per pound, these wings come in a tray costing around $12, offering a good amount of chicken without the usual markup for added sauces.

The wings are seasoned with a garlic pepper blend, making them ideal for garlic lovers, though not as appealing if garlic isn’t your preference.

The Costco wings are fully cooked and Ready to Eat right out of the container.  However, if they are cold by the time you get home, or if you want to refrigerate them and serve the next day they heat up easily.

You can reheat the wings by:

  • Placing on a baking sheet and heating in a 350F oven for 15 minutes.
  • Heating in the microwave at 70% Power for 5 minutes.
  • Heating in your air fryer at 375F for 8 minutes.

Taste Test

The wings look juicy, with a good amount of moisture retained even after cooking. The garlic flavor is pronounced but not overwhelming, though there’s a chance that the garlic could taste slightly burnt due to the darker cooking process.

Overall, the wings deliver on their promise of flavor and are especially appealing due to their convenience—perfect for a quick, easy meal without needing much prep work.

While the flats are juicy, the drumsticks are a bit on the drier side, suggesting that a little extra sauce or a dipping option could enhance the experience. However, considering the quantity and the price, the value is hard to beat. You get a generous portion of wings for $12, making them a solid choice for anyone looking to feed a crowd or have a hearty solo meal.

Compared to Costco’s previous attempt with pre-cooked chicken drumsticks—which were a disappointment—these wings are a definite improvement. If you’re looking for a no-fuss, tasty option, Costco’s fully cooked garlic pepper wings are worth a try.

Two thumbs up for the convenience and value, even if you might want to add your own dipping sauce on the side.
