Costco sells a Caesar salad kit that I will often buy when I am looking for a quick and easy side dish. One one hand, buying a salad kit seems a little lazy. On the flip side, when I buy this kit I don’t have to worry about if I have all of the right ingredients at home, etc. and is one less thing that I have to think about.
Taste Test!
The salad comes with:
- Chopped Romaine Lettuce
- Shredded Parmesan Cheese
- Garlic Croutons
- Lemon Wedges
- Caesar Dressing
The salad is good but not great.
The lettuce is always crisp and I have never found any wilted, brown lettuce in the salads. The croutons are okay but nothing to get excited about. The Parmesan cheese is fine but doesn’t have the same amazing flavor as Costco’s 24 month old grated Parmigiano Reggiano.
The Caesar dressing is a bit thicker than I prefer and I always doctor it up by adding more black pepper.

How Many Does the Salad Serve?
You will typically get a container with a little over two pounds of salad and how many people it will serve depends upon what else is on the table.
- If you are serving the salad as a side dish then it will serve six people.
- If you are serving the salad as a main dish then it will serve three people.
I like to serve the salad with Costco’s grilled chicken skewers for a fast, easy and delicious meal.
The salad also goes well with Costco’s Chicken Alfredo or any of the other Take and Bake pasta meals at the deli.
Storage
The salads always have a Sell By Date that is three days after the Pack Date. However, these salads last much longer than three days.
I have kept one of these salads in my refrigerator for four days past the Sell By Date it it was just fine. That tells me that these salads can last at least a week when refrigerated.
The only downside to storing these salads a long time is that the salt in the Parmesan cheese will start to pull some water out of any lettuce it is in contact with making the cheese and lettuce a little soggy.

The salad is Item Number 19927 and is found in the refrigerated deli coolers with the other prepared meal items.
When this review was first written in 2021 the salad cost $3.99 per pound but the price has increased to $4.49 per pound. You get a little over two pounds of salad so expect to pay around $9 for the full salad kit.
You can absolutely make a better salad from scratch for less money but this salad is good enough and I value the time it frees up for me.
