Nutrition and Ingredients

Let’s take a closer look at what you get with box of cheddar snacks.

Nutrition Facts

You get 4 ounces (100 g) of cheese sticks per package.  Two cheese sticks are considered a serving and there are about six servings per bag.

The nutritional facts for a single serving are:

  • Calories: 90
  • Fat: 3.5g (4% DV)
  • Cholesterol: 10mg (3% DV)
  • Sodium: 110mg (5% DV)
  • Carbohydrates: 11g (4% DV)
  • Protein: 4g

Take these nutritional facts with a grain of salt as they are based on a two stick serving size and I am pretty sure you will eat the entire box in a single sitting.

Ingredient List

The Cheese Sticks have the following ingredients:

  • Unbleached flour
  • Cheddar cheese
  • Asiago cheese
  • Butter
  • Yeast
  • Sugar
  • Salt
  • Cayenne pepper
  • Rosemary

Bread, cheese, butter and cayenne pepper.  Now that is a savory ingredient list!

Taste Test!

These snacks are incredibly savory with tons of cheese flavor.

The cheese sticks have an awesome crunch that supposedly comes from them being twice baked. The downside of the snacks being so crunchy is that it is impossible to be sneaky and eat a bunch while your wife isn’t looking.

These are extremely similar to the classic Southern cheese straws that I am used too but are probably a little crispier.  There is a nice touch of heat from the cayenne but not so much that I would call these spicy.

Think of these as “Cheese- Its” with a kicked up flavor profile.

How to Serve

The packaging offers several ways to serve and enjoy these cheese sticks.

  • Dippers for Salsa
  • Straight up as a snack
  • Served with soup (tomato would be excellent)
  • Served in a salad or with a wrap

Those are all nice ideas but I am eating them straight from the box.
