The Ajinomoto Yakisoba Noodles at Costco feature a pleasing medley of vegetables, stir fried Japanese style noodles and a tasty sauce. These all vegetarian noodles are in the freezer section at Costco and can be a tasty, easy but not so healthy meal.
Keep reading to see if these noodles are right for you and your family.
Calories, Nutrition and Ingredients
Let’s take a closer look at what you get with these noodle packages.
Nutrition Facts

The calories and carbohydrates are pretty high for this meal but pale in comparison to the massive sodium content. These noodles might be vegetarian but that does not mean that they are healthy.

Cooking Instructions
Cooking the noodles is extremely simple and just takes a few minutes in the microwave.
- Tear a two inch slit in the top of the package.
- Microwave on High for three minutes.
- Empty the contents of the package into a bowl and mix well.
- Serve
There are also instructions provided for cooking on the stove top:
- Remove the noodles from the package and place in a skillet with the vegetables in the bottom of the pan.
- Cook over Medium High heat for 3-4 minutes.
- Mix the noodles thoroughly and cook for another 3-4 minutes until heated through.
I greatly prefer to cook these in the microwave as it is faster and creates less of a mess.
Taste Test!
The noodles are tender, savory and delicious.
I was impressed with the variety of vegetables and the fact that most of them were still crisp. The vegetable mix provided a wonderful textural contrast to the noodles and the various colors made the dish visually appealing.
There was enough savory sauce to coat the noodles but not so much as to make them “soupy”. The mix of sesame oil with soy sauce and garlic provided the classic flavor you expect from these noodles.
I could definitely taste the salt in these noodles. The salt level was not unpleasant but was enough to remind me that this is not a particularly healthy dish.
There is already plenty of protein in this meal but you could easily add some cooked chicken, shrimp or even steak strips to these noodles and it would be even more satisfying.
Unless you are dead set on having a vegetarian meal then I will suggest buying the Costco Yakisoba Stir Fry Meal Kit instead of these frozen noodles and you will have better control over the sodium content.
Costco Value
The six pack of yakisoba noodles from Ajinomoto costs $12.99 at Costco which works out to a price of $2.165 per serving or $0.24 per ounce.
You can buy a similar product at Walmart, Annie Chung’s Frozen Yakisoba Noodles, at a cost of $2.58 for a 7.9 ounce package. This works out to a cost of $0.327 per ounce.
This means that you can save $0.087 per ounce (26%) by purchasing your yakisoba noodles at Costco.
Hi I was wondering if
the flavored sauce comes in separate packet so you can adjust sodium content ?
Thanks
Eileen
I love it. But I agree, need packet of extra sauce.
Thanks in advance
