This is a decent Thai meal with a mild/moderate spice level. The meal features a LOT of green bell peppers and onions.
Nice Spice Level
Too many green bell peppers and onions for my personal taste.
The Saffron Road Lemongrass Basil Chicken is a frozen meal that heats up in just a few minutes. The meal features white meat chicken in a Thai green curry sauce featuring lemongrass and basil and is served with basmati rice.
I have had mostly positive experiences with the Saffron Road brand so I was curious to check out their take on Thai cuisine.

Here is how I heated the dish before it became my daughter’s lunch 🙂

- Microwave on High for four minutes.
- Microwave for one more minute.
How Does the Saffron Road Lemongrass Basil Chicken Taste?
I asked my daughter to try this meal as I would not be able to give it a fair review. The dish is LOADED with green bell peppers and onions. This is a flavor combination that some people love but is one that I do not like.
My daughter’s first reaction was surprise at how fresh everything tasted. She doesn’t normally associate frozen meals with freshness so this was pleasing.
- She rated the flavor as a 7 out of 10.
- She rated the spiciness as a 4 or 5. Pretty mild but still had a little kick.
My takeaway is that the meal is pretty good but not amazing.
If what you are looking for is a quick and easy way to get some Thai food for lunch then this lemongrass chicken would be a fine choice assuming that you like green peppers and onions.
This meal cost $5.69 which does not make it a value but is still acceptable.
I will not be buying this again due to personal tastes.
