I keep trying to eat healthy but Costco keeps throwing a bunch of diet busters in my path! The latest temptation that I am trying (failing?) to avoid are the Costco cookies.
My local warehouse has several varieties, including chocolate chunk and raspberry crumple that look too good to pass up!
Stick with me and we will cover the types of cookies that are regularly available along with some storage tips and nutritional information.
Three Flavor Variety Pack of Cookies at Costco
If you want to try several different flavors of cookies then Costco has a variety pack that has three delicious options.
The variety pack has the following flavors:
- Double Nut – 8 cookies
- Oatmeal Raisin – 8 cookies
- Chocolate Chunk – 8 cookies
This 24 pack of cookies currently costs $8.99 and is a nice choice for when you will have several guests because who knows what everyone will want!
Costco Gourmet Chocolate Chunk Cookies
Let’s not kid ourselves.
We all know that the only type of cookie that really matters is chocolate.
Costco offers a 24 pack of Gourmet Chocolate Chunk cookies for $8.99, the same price as the variety pack.
These are large cookies with an average weight of 1.5 ounces per cookie.
If you are looking for a smaller, more bite sized, option then Costco offers a larger tray of mini-chocolate chip cookies.
The smaller cookies come in a 60 count container and are more expensive than the larger cookies.
The full sized cookies cost about $4 per pound while the smaller ones cost about $7 per pound. Personally I would rather buy the larger cookies and break them in half than buy the smaller cookies which are almost twice as expensive.
Costco Raspberry Crumble Cookies
Last up are the raspberry crumble cookies that I refuse to but because all of the people on Facebook saying that you can’t stop at eating a single cookie.
The raspberry crumble cookies are the most expensive option at $7.68 per pound but by all accounts they are worth every penny.
The biggest tip I read about these cookies is to individually wrap and freeze all of the cookies as soon as you get home. When you want a cookie take it out of the freezer and let it sit on the counter a few minutes to defrost. This is going to keep you from eating the whole tray at once.
Calories in Costco Cookies
These cookies are similar to Costco Muffins in that the calorie count might make you a little sad.
- The Gourmet Chocolate Chunk Cookies have 210 calories per cookie.
- The Raspberry Crumble Cookies have 340 calories per cookie.
- The Oatmeal Raisin and Double Nut Cookies have 230 calories per cookie.
So that is good news in one aspect as you can say that you are eating the Chocolate Chunk cookies as they are the healthiest option!
The biggest pro tip that I can offer is to only eat the cookies that are broken. Once a Costco cookies break almost all of the calories fall out and vaporize into the atmosphere. You can eat as many broken cookies as you like and will never have to worry about your waistline!
I like to be helpful like that!
