Product Description: 14 ounce can of reduced sodium vegetable soup.
Brand: Amy's Organic

Light in Sodium
Amy’s Reduced Sodium Chunky Vegetable Soup is tasty while remaining low in calories and fat. The soup is a flavorful and filling lunch and I have stocked my pantry with several cans.
The sodium content in this soup is about 33% lower than Amy’s regular chunky vegetable soup but is still slightly elevated.
Great Vegetable Flavors
Sodium Content Slightly Elevated
It is early December and the weather is still perfect for eating hot bowls of soup for lunch. Today I went with Amy’s Organic Reduced Sodium Chunky Vegetable soup.
The regular chunky vegetable soup from Amy’s tasted fine but the amount of sodium in the product was ridiculous. I was excite to try the reduced sodium version.
Vegetable Soup Nutrition, Ingredients and Labelling
Let’s take a closer look at what comes in this 14 ounce can.
A serving of this soup is the full can.
The nutrition facts for the can of soup are:
- Calories: 120
- Fat: 2.5g (3% DV)
- Cholesterol: 0mg (0% DV)
- Sodium: 880mg (38% DV)
- Carbohydrates: 18g (7% DV)

This soup has about 26% less sodium than Amy’s Chunky Vegetable Soup and 10 fewer calories. Still, with a sodium content of 880 mg I can see why this is labeled “Reduced Sodium” and not “Light in Sodium” like Amy’s Light in Sodium Minestrone Soup which only has 440 mg of sodium.
The soup has the following ingredients:
- Green beans
- Black pepper
All of the ingredients are labeled as Organic.
Additionally, the company website lists the soup as:
- Dairy free
- Lactose free
- Tree nut free
- Plant based
How Does Amy’s Reduced Sodium Chunky Vegetable Soup Taste?
I heated this soup up in the microwave (3 minutes on High) and had it for lunch.
I was very pleased with the flavors and it tasted just like I expected. The tomatoes, carrots and onions brought savory sweetness while the corn, peas and green beans provided interesting texture.
The vegetables were chunky and the soup was filling.
The soup is perfectly fine as is but is elevated to a whole new level by adding a few dashes of Trader Joe’s Green Dragon Hot Sauce.
I am a fan of this soup and have stocked my pantry with several cans. I will rate this as my second favorite soup from Amy’s behind my favorite, Light in Sodium Minestrone.
Other Reviews from Amazon Customers
Let’s take a look at what other customers think about this soup.
When I checked out the reviews for this soup on Amazon and saw that there were a several reviews (134 as of December, 2021) and 89% of them were 5 or 4 Stars.
There were also a few reviewers, 4%, who really disliked this soup and left it a 1 or 2 Star review.
Some of the positive comments reviewers left include:
- Favorite veggie soup (canned) of all time. I’m glad I was finally able to find the reduced sodium version!
- Delicious blend of soft but chunky veggies and tomatoes. Unfortunately, the reduced sodium version is very seldom available and the standard version has too much salt. I get this whenever it is available.
- Healthy ingredients, great base for other condiments or ingredients.
Almost all of the negative reviews were due to customers receiving dented and damaged cans of soup. There were very few negative reviews of the soup itself.
